About embeddedcarbonrecord.com
The authoritative global directory of ISO 14065 accredited CBAM embedded carbon verification services — and the permanent SHA-256 hashed document vault where non-EU manufacturers store their verified records.
What This Platform Does
Under EU Regulation 2023/956 (CBAM), every non-EU manufacturer exporting steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen, or electricity to the EU must calculate, verify, and document the greenhouse gas emissions embedded in their products. Without a verified embedded carbon record, EU importers face CBAM certificate shortfalls and fines of €50–€150 per tonne of CO₂ equivalent.
embeddedcarbonrecord.com provides two services that address this requirement directly:
Global Verifier Directory
The primary reference for non-EU manufacturers seeking ISO 14065 accredited CBAM verification firms. All listed firms have been confirmed as holding valid accreditation from their national accreditation body (SANAS, NABCB, TÜRKAK, CNAS, CGCRE, and others). Free to search. Free for verified firms to list.
Browse the directory →Permanent Document Vault
A SHA-256 hashed document vault for verified embedded carbon calculations. The document is never transmitted to our servers — the hash is computed in the manufacturer's browser. The permanent vault URL is the forensic standard EU customs recognises for CBAM audit trails.

Technical Architecture
The platform is built on Cloudflare's global infrastructure — Cloudflare Pages for static content delivery, Cloudflare Workers for server-side logic, Cloudflare D1 for the vault database, and Cloudflare KV for real-time data. The EU ETS carbon price is updated every four hours from the Ember Climate API. All payments are processed via Stripe. Transactional email is delivered via Resend.
Privacy by design: The SHA-256 hash of your verification document is computed entirely in your browser. The document itself is never transmitted to our servers. Only the hash, metadata (company name, sector, CN code, reporting year, verifier name), and vault URL are stored. Your confidential production data stays on your device.
The CBAM Context
CBAM Regulation 2023/956 entered its transitional phase in October 2023 and reached full financial enforcement on 1 January 2026. The first full-year CBAM declaration — covering all 2026 imports — is due 31 May 2027, with the first certificate surrender deadline on 30 September 2027. Non-EU manufacturers who have not documented their actual embedded carbon by that date will face EU default values set at the 90th percentile of EU production — typically 2–3× higher than actual emissions for modern facilities.
The financial consequence is material. For a steel producer exporting 10,000 tonnes to the EU, the difference between the EU default value (2.18 tCO₂/t) and a typical EAF actual value (0.60 tCO₂/t) is EUR 1,028,600 per year at current ETS prices. Verification and permanent storage of the actual figure is the only mechanism to capture that saving.
